A comprehensive assessment tool is being developed within AgRimate to evaluate the impact of the project’s solutions on productivity, resource efficiency, and farmers’ working conditions, as well as broader socio-economic aspects of rural communities. This tool will be designed to evaluate AgRimate’s impact, not only on farmers but also on rural communities, supporting improved decision-making and social inclusiveness.
The Assessment Tool helps farmers see the impact of different factors on their farms. It collects and organizes data from the project to track how different practices affect productivity, resource use, and overall farm performance.
At this stage of the project, a first initial data collection activity has been carried out to support the development of the tool. These include surveys on working habits and conditions related to vineyard pruning, as well as a first round of field measurements and image acquisition capturing vine conditions before and after pruning operations. These datasets will provide a baseline for analyzing both technical performance and human centric factors.
The tool will integrate data generated from AR, AI, and robotic technologies with field observations and user feedback to perform multidimensional analyses. It will evaluate key indicators such as productivity gains, operational efficiency, and worker well-being, enabling a more holistic understanding of the introduced technologies.
It can also run “what-if” scenarios, showing how changes in pruning methods, technology use, or farm management could influence yields and efficiency. By turning complex data into clear insights, it helps farmers make smarter decisions, improve operations, and plan for better results.
By translating complex, multi-source data into easy-to-grasp and actionable insights, the tool will act as a bridge between technological innovation and practical decision-making. It will support farmers, advisors, and policymakers in assessing trade-offs, optimizing practices, and fostering more sustainable and inclusive agricultural systems.
