Using Camera Technology for 3D Modeling to Optimize Vineyard Pruning

The agricultural industry is currently facing a critical shortage of skilled pruning labor. In response, AgRimate is implementing new camera technology to scan grapes and reconstruct them into complex 3D tree models. These models are then analyzed by neuro-AI networks to identify optimal pruning points, with the ultimate goal of understanding and mimicking farmers’ cutting methods to enhance decision-making and precision.

Innovation Through 3D Analysis

In AgRimate, we capture olive and vine trees from all angles to create realistic 3D models of each plant. These models allow us to explore every detail of a tree, from its overall shape to the volume of leaves, and see how it changes over time. By comparing models before and after pruning, we better understand the best ways to prune, and even train AI systems to suggest optimal pruning points, helping farmers make smarter, more precise decisions.

Key Project Goals

While full integration for olive groves and certain AR solutions will not yet be market-ready, this project provides the essential data needed for the future of viticulture.
