From 20th to 25th of February, AgRimate carried out its first data acquisition campaign in vineyards located in Spata, near Athens. The campaign was the result of a collaboration between Agricultural University of Athens, Fondazione Bruno Kessler – FBK, and Tampere University, and marked an important step toward the development of the project’s robotic pruning solution.
The main objective was to collect data for the future training of an AI module aimed at predicting pruning points, as well as to acquire datasets to support the training and validation of the robotic platform navigation, manipulation, and interaction capabilities with the vines. During the campaign, RGB and RGB-D images of grapevine plants were captured at different stages of the pruning process.
